My Approach
Life can throw us endless challenges, and these can often bring up difficult emotions. I provide a safe space to identify, explore and process these emotions in a judgement-free environment with compassion and empathy.
Therapy for me cannot be rigidly kept in one box or framework, and as an analytically minded yet creative human, my approach reflects this. Therapy needs to ebb and flow, adapting in a way that suits each client’s individual needs.
The key approaches I draw from are the psychodynamic approach, attachment theory, and transactional analysis. I use the core conditions of the person-centred approach to underpin all of this. Alongside these approaches, I use interventions such as mindful self-compassion-focused therapy, psycho-education, and cognitive behavioural therapy, depending on the wants and needs of my client.
When looking into therapy it can be an overwhelming experience with a huge amount of information being thrown your way. Finding an approach that works for you is important. Still, I believe that feeling a connection and building a therapeutic relationship with your therapist is the leading factor in finding what is right for you.
