Hi, Iām Sophie
I offer Psychotherapy and Counselling, either online or in person at my office in the heart of the Cotswolds, Cheltenham.
I studied Psychotherapy and Counselling for three years at Plymouth Marjon University, graduating with a first-class honours degree. This degree provided professional training within a variety of theoretical frameworks and consulted an established evidence base for best practice. This has enabled me to work with a broad spectrum of mental health conditions.
During this training, I undertook placements with trauma specialists and provided counselling at a boarding school specialising in well-being and welfare.
After graduating I accepted a job at a boarding school as their School Welfare Officer and School Counsellor. In this role, I consulted the safeguarding team and delivered staff training and PSHE for students.
I have also enjoyed the opportunity to guest lecture to psychotherapy and counselling undergraduate students about safeguarding, welfare and mental health within organisations.
Over the past few years, I have developed my private practice where I have taken on clients with a demography that ranges from adolescents to the elderly and encompasses a variety of mental health conditions and circumstances.
